Hope
Yes, I've been following the election obsessively. This is the best thing I've read all month.

She Must Be Stopped!
Speaking of using your opponent's strengths against them:
Christina's work at WITI has been exposing us both to a lot of interesting information about women and business. It's well known that women in general are better at maintaining social connections than men are. It's also well known that that's an important skill in business. What's odd is that no one has really put those two facts together until recently.
It got me to thinking about women we refer to as sluts. What better way to neutralize this innate strength (superior socialization) than by demonizing it? Look at her! So comfortable in so many social situations, with so many people. . . There's only one explanation: she's sleeping with all of them! She must be stopped!
It's a cheap tactic, but surprisingly effective.

A Foolish Consistency is the Hobgoblin of Little Minds
So Kerry and Bush are talking about each other a lot these days. Kerry says Bush won't admit his mistakes, and Bush says Kerry can't make up his mind. Sounds to me like they're both saying the same thing: "Kerry is a man who values adaptation and Bush is a man who values consistency."
Consistency is fine for things like french fries and car parts, but we need a leader who can roll with the punches and embrace creative solutions to new problems, if you ask me.
